Providing safety, support and encouragement

Larkspur Lane is distinct

Larkspur Lane at Peter Becker Community is a distinct type of long-term care that is specifically suited for people with some form of cognitive impairment. It provides a non-threatening and carefully structured environment so residents can live a very positive life when they are provided with supportive supervision and an enabling environment.

Through environmental cues, task segmentation, special programming and staff presence, we stimulate cognitive orientation and memory function, and encourage activities of daily living and social interaction. This environment promotes quality of life and dignity. Programming is geared to allow residents to function at their highest ability in the least restrictive environment. In addition to private rooms and personalized care, Larkspur Lane features a dining area, enclosed outdoor garden courtyard and a sunny activity room.

A compassionate team offers support and enrichment

Residents of Larkspur Lane dine in Linden Hall. The Dining Services Department provides nutritious meal options for residents to select at each meal. Staff members assist with serving and encourage fellowship during meals. Meals are provided at the same structured time each day to coordinate with programming.

A support plan is established after the time of admission to ensure that residents receive an interdisciplinary and consistent approach to care and services.  Members of nursing, life enrichment, support services and dining are integral parts of plan development. Family members are encouraged to participate in this process.

Privacy and comfort

All Larkspur Lane accommodations are private residences. Each residence includes a memory box to cue residents that this is their home.
